Real engines are 6 in a row, look at the big rigs, V8 has more friction to over come not to mention more resiprocating weight. Physics always has a way of showing what works best, ps when Dodge was developing the diesel pick up for the third time tested the Allison and the allison couldnot handle the cummins broad torque curve. I know this is a late post so ignore it if you like but let me know if you like.
