YES, all 24v lift pumps were the same. And they are all prone to failure. If you don't have a light or gauge, you are just driving a time bomb. Eventually it will fail and kill your injection pump
Gmorgan, it should fire right away if there is no air in the system. Just turning the key wont necessarily turn the pump on, but if you bump the motor, it should run for a few seconds then stop again. Did they run the pump right to the injection pump or are they running it through the stock filter canister? If they are running it to the canister, you may want to change that.
