I think that the 40 housing will act bigger because the hole in the center of it is bigger and has more clearance to the turbine wheel. FWIW a hx35 has a 58mm turbine wheel and a hx40 has a 65mm turbine wheel.
Al the info I found says the HX35 has a 60mm and the HX40 has a 65mm. but I did not find this info till after I installed it and started diggin to see why it was so laggy before i was told they were the same size. so now I am in dearch of a HX40 turbine wheel or better yet a HX40 that I can afford.

When I was researching I found what I started this tread asking and was wondering if there is any valitity to it or not I have seen many things on other sites that are just compleatly wrong but could not decide on this one.
