Shock Tower Brace - Dodge Ram Suspension System Components
im a bit confused. why would the mounts be different from different sized shocks? the only two reasons for changes in coilover/shock size are rod strength(not necessarily body diameter change) and fluid capacity change to compensate for higher boiling temperatures necessary to extreme offroad use. ive seen both of the kits discussed, and theyre really nice, but the lack of a custom tower has always confused me. is it just to make the kit available as a bolt on? otherwise wouldnt a custom tower with a crossover brace be the only way to go? my backround is desert, but of the few full size custom coilover conversions, none higher than 10 inches, ive built, we ALWAYS utilize a custom tower mainly for fear of the frame tearing away or bending outward due to the stress, not to mention a cummins twists frames anyways. little lost as to the longevity of one of these kits without the towers, and even still, what stops the full droop stress of a dual rated coilover compounded with nitrogen pressureized droop, and unsprung weight?
