thanks bentvalves! - it must be fate that i read your message when i did. i am actually on my way to drop my truck off at the cummins service center right now. i am just like you though, i like to be able to fix my own toys, and too cheap also. i pulled the map sensor out today to see if it was dirty inside, but it seemed clean. i ran the truck with the sensor uplugged and nothing changed, wonder if that means anything? i was curious if there is a way to test the sensor. i tried a continuity test between the posts inside the sensor, and got nothing. but i don't know if that is a valid test or not. so, bentvalves, you've saved me from going to the cummins service center for now and restored my faith. seems like all signs are pointing towards the map sensor. also, i just went outside and loosened one of the banjo bolts on the filter and fuel does come shooting out, so my l/p is working
