You might want to check the sheetmetal where it's rubbing. It's usually a sharp, tab-like edge that can be trimmed with a cutting tool or some good tin snips. I thought about trimming that part on my truck but haven't had any rubbing issues other than the control arms, but my truck has the snow plow prep option. If I HAD to trim that little edge, I'd trim it back a bit and then maybe get some spray undercoating (Pep Boys, NAPA, etc) and mask off a bit around the piece you trim and shoot it so that you keep things rust free. I don't know how much rubbing you have going on but I wouldn't think it would take too much trimming to get it to clear ok. Is it like you can't turn the wheel or is it just a mild rubbing when turning sharp?
