Both of you don't have exhaust brakes on your truck... So this really doesn't apply to you. Now as you seen on my web page how blck and oily the two sensor look.. That is with in the time of a oil change (6K miles). So every oil change those two sensors get pulled out and cleaned.
As for amount of use I get out of the Jake... Well my brake shoes have over 50% of the pads left. I live is a mountain area where you might drive 3 miles up hill and gain 4K - 5K feet in elevation. Its a real brake saver! :thumbsup
So why does the Jake do this??? Well when its activated your basically plugging the exhaust up. So when exhaust time comes for a cylinder it can't vent out the exhaust manifold so its trapped till intake time again. So its pushing exhaust out the intake a bit... Scattering bit of oil and soot in the manifold...
