FS: Gearvendors Underdrive/Overdrive Kit

I want to apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge about this sale. I am listing this for my brother.

For sale here is a Gearvendors underdrive/overdrive kit. Gear Vendors under/overdrive transmissions the most awarded auxiliary transmissions. . My brother installed this kit on his 2008 Dodge Ram 5500 4x4, manual trans, 84" (I believe) wheel base truck. I think that it mates with a NP271 transfer case but Gearvendors has adapters for many different applications. He used it for approximately 3-4 months until he had a failure of the main Gearvendors unit. Gearvendors stood behind their product and immediately sent him a brand new unit. The unit that is for sale is brand new and was never installed on his truck. The rest of the kit has 3-4 months of use on it but is in great shape. My brother still has the shortened driveshaft for his 5500 but it is not included in this sale unless you choose to pick up the kit locally. Shipping the driveshaft would be a hassle.

Please ask questions if you have them. I will make an effort to get answers for you or please feel free to call or email my brother directly. His name is David: 479 253 4545 or dirt-pro AT hotmail.com (no spaces, replace AT with @)

Asking $2100 shipped to the lower 48 states. Located in northwest Arkansas. More pictures are available if you need them. Thanks for looking!

There are a lot of people running these with no problems. Gear Vendor's is near my in Sacramento and while I have never been in there they do make a great product

Oh man... I'm sorry guys. I'm not new to forums but I missed your replies!

The truck did not have any problems with the driveshaft or eating U-joints. The problem was with the internals of the first Gearvendors unit. It was probably due to towing to much weight. Again, just to clarify, the Gearvendors unit being sold here was not the damaged unit. This one has never been run in a truck and is new.

Thanks for the replies!

can this work on the 07 6 speed in my sig? Where is the puch pull lever to kick it in and out? Is this a overdrive or a underdrive? I live in east texas so arkansas is not a very far drive for me so I may be interested.

1baddiesel, I talked to my brother about this today. The Gearvendors can be adapted to many different makes and models of cars and trucks. It just takes different adapters/setups. My brother asked what transfer case you have. Do you have any idea?

(The way I understand it) The Gearvendors is a gear spliter so it would give you 3rd and a half, 4th and a half, 5th and a half, and sixth and a half gear. There is a dash mounted box that turns on the system and then a small electical switch that is mounted on the shifter activates/deactivates it.

Again, I'm just helping my brother sell this and I don't have a complete understanding of the system. You might want to read some of the info at: Gear Vendors under/overdrive transmissions the most awarded auxiliary transmissions. . Please ask more questions if you have them!

I believe the t-case outputs are all the same so it should bolt right up

I called the guys at gear vendors and he told me that there is a 1st gen and a 2nd gen model for the g-56. he said the first was for the 04.5 to 07 and 2nd was 07.5- and newer trucks. he said the gear ratios are different between the two

That's weird. The g-56 is the same in all the trucks as far as bolting up goes, but the 07.5 has a little higher final ratio or something. The unit should bolt up to either of them though.
