Be having trouble with the ETC light and code p0106 and going into limp mode under higher turbo boost pressure for about a year now. Replaced the TURBO BOOST SENSOR and problems no more! It's easy to change out just don't buy the part from the dealer. I did and it was $388. I think Geno's Garage online it's under $200. Now its like driving a new pickup, now I'm happy happy happy!

Do you mean this?<br />
CUMMINS 4032316 TURBO SPEED SENSOR ('07.5-'09, 6.7L)<br />
If your Fourth Generation Dodge Turbo Diesel truck gets a P0106 code or exhibits excessive exhaust smoke and higher exhaust gas temperatures than normal, it may be the turbo speed sensor causing the problem

Hello:
That sensor Kit number, 4032316 is available on "Peterbiltparts.com" for 153.28 but it's been referred to as "Speed Sensor".
I'm getting code P2579 which is associated with This speed sensor. I'm told by my mechanic that the whole Turbo Charger must be replaced to fix.... others on this forun saying this is not true. One can replace this sensor with Turbo on truck...
"Mr. Guest".... is this true in your experience?

I am also now in the middle of tracking down this darn P0106 gremlin. I've got a few additional issues however. First, truck info: 2008 4x4 fully deleted 5" TBE, CAI, CCV filter deleted, H&S XRT Pro wild tune with transmission tune, Edge Juice still installed but set to stock, Edge CTS monitor, fully deleted at 30K and now at 99K. No problems to speak of since deleting.

So about a month ago I towed a 10,000 load up to Northern AZ with several long steep climbs. On the first big climb I was holding steady at 65mph with no issues when the truck just fell on its face. The MIL and CEL came on and I pulled over. After shutting down and restarting, I was back on my way. I was fine the rest of the trip.

When I got home I searched and found several threads about this P0106 issue and did the following: Cleaned the MAP, MAF and IAT sensors and harnesses with MAF electronic cleaner, cleaned air filter, checked fuses and checked for leaks. No further issues over the next couple weeks daily driving it (No towing).

Fast forward to this most recent weekend and I was headed North again with the same load. This time however it tripped 4 times over the course of 60 miles on the way up. I stopped, shut down and restarted each time. On the way back down the mountain however is where I experienced something weird. I had the EB engaged when it all of a sudden changed both the way it normally sounds and the braking force. It sounded like it was barely engaging, but definitely was engaging. I tried downshifting, playing with the button and everything in between. At one point it came one normally for about 3 seconds and then got quiet and produced very minimal braking power, but I could still faintly hear it whistling. Once I made it down the mountain and on fairly flat roads it seemed to begin working again. Also, my CTS reads the following "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Performance +B4687". Does the B4687 mean anything? I can't find info on it?

So, what i've found is that both the P0106 and Exhaust Brake issues happened while towing. When daily driving I have no issues. In fact, on the way to work this morning the EB worked normally with no issues.

Based on all the threads I've read, I am gretting ready to purchase a new turbo speed sensor, especially since I've noticed an EB issue. Am I headed in the right direction?

One other piece of info; While cleaning my MAF sensor I noticed that it did not have the two wire resistor like every other MAF sensor I've seen. I tried searching for it and found half the pictures I've seen show the resistor, and half do not?? If that little resistor came off, it might explain the EB issue since it would have been sucked into the compressor and gone through the motor  Anyway, here is the picture I took of my MAF.

Thoughts??

I have the exact same "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Performance +B4687" fault on mine. I just ordered a new MAP sensor from Genos. We'll see if that takes care of the issue. I am also currious and am wondering what the +B4687 means??

Yes, they all have that pancake resistor/capacitor in the MAF.
If it's gone or got broke from cleaning it needs to be replaced.

next, before comdeming parts take a look at the pulse line that goes from the turbo to a block with a sensor in it, that is mounted ontop of a coolent fitting/bock up of the front of the engine.

remove and clean it out.

just a idea.

I too am having an issue where the truck just sounds and performs like it's exhaust breaking at low speeds when accelerating. I recently had the ECM replace because it died on me and we couldn't even get the codes. It is a 07.5 bone stock! I'm getting tired of chasing gremlins. I also cleaned the sensor and exhaust pressure sensor. Driving me nutz. Will the swap of the Turbo sensor help? I'm not getting any codes.
