transmission/diff/transfer case fluid change

Just a double check - 2008 AT(stock pan), 4x4 (stock diff covers), 2500. I need 8 qts of ATF+4 for the transmission, 3 qts of ATF+4 for the transfer case, and 8 qts of 75/90 to do both diffs. Correct?

When I did my transmission I asked the same question the response that I got was, depends on how long you let it drain for. The dealer didn't even have an idea of how much to put in, neither did anyone here it was all rough estimates, I can tell you that it took me 11 quarts for the tranny I started with 8 and then filled from there with the truck running, hope this helps

For the trans, with a stock pan, I find it's about 6.5 - 7 quarts if you just drop the pan, change the filters, and put the pan right back on. It will be more than that if you let it drain for a long time. If you want to drain more out, leave the spin-on filter off; that will help the T/C to drain faster.

Any estimate on how long it takes to achieve max static drain - everything that will come out without disassembly? Overnight?

If you leave the spin-on filter off, then an overnight drain will do it. Actually, I'd think 4-5 hours would be enough.

Guess you can always look and see if anything is still dripping....
