"WEIRD NOISE" when in reverse

So never ever heard anything like this.. Truck is making a weird noise.. I wish this place could include sound bite clips, but other than posting to you tube i wouldnt know what else to do, other than try and describe best as possible..

It is a sqeaking noise not like clank clank, not metal on metal sound, sounds kinda like brakes do when you hold them under pressure on a hill and let off to roll that initial sound at let off, is kinda what it is.. But cant be brake related.. Next weird thing is this is only happening in reverse.. Reverse only, i was thinking universal joint but all looks good and common wisdom says if it does it in reverse it should do the same in forward and also in neutral.. But it only does it in reverse.. It the same noise over and over.. I got under the truck and had some one reverse the truck while i tried to listen and it sounds kinda like in the drive shaft but why only in reverse and what is this noise and cant pin point it.. It is very noticeable and not a slight or fant sound..

Dont know anyone ever had anything like it or not..

Same issue with my '79 F-100 when I drove it everyday. Noticed it while backing up at a gas pump one day. It was the rear u joint in mine.

If you have a Photobucket account you can post vids that way

u-joint, my experience has always had it start with the noise in reverse. after out driving, get under neath and feel both. the one that is the warmest, is the one going. or just keep going, it'll get worse and you'll know exactly which one.

Whinning noise only when is reverse...

Did you figure out what it is brother?

My '07 is doing the same thing now, sounds almost like the power steering pump, but it only happens when the tranny's in reverse....
