According to the owners manual, it needs to be a HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) antifreeze. When I was looking, the only one that I could find other than Mopar was the Zerex G05.

Valvoline.com > Products > Zerex > Antifreeze Zerex > Zerex G-05 Antifreeze / Coolant

Zerex G 05 coolant is correct. I happened to pick some up yesterday after I had the clerk verify on his computer that it's the right stuff. The bottle also says on the back that it is for Dodge Cummins up to 2006 and later.

I was a little concerned about the color, though. It isn't pink but sort of yellowish. I just added enough to bring the level up in the recovery tank. Hopefully it will mix well with the pink stuff.

Wish I new the difference. Half my trucks life was green the other half gold. Never noticed a difference. From what I saw. Now that I got my modded radiator from puredieselpower.com I went back to gold. I try not to be outlaw to much.

Zerex G05 is the factory fill, but the Mopar bottled stuff is orange, the OEM is pink, and the G05 off the shelf is yellow.. but it's all Zerex G05.

There are many coolants that HOAT does not mix with (regardless of what the bottle says) and can gum up and give you lots of issues.

This is a 5.9, but no difference. Coolant flush on a 3rd Gen.

Napa has the right stuff. Napa part number for the 50/50 pre-diluted HOAT Zerex G05 is "ZXG05RU-1" and lists for $13.11/gallon

You don't want to use pre diluted in these blocks or you will end up with a very weak mixture... Look at the post I linked it explains why.

For a flush situation you are very correct.

For a topping off situation the premixed works fine.

Correct, and since this is a flushing thread the pre-mix isn't applicable.

Just don't want guys to end up with the wrong stuff.

Went hunting for coolant today, Napa is closed and the other guys don't carry it. Had to use water and I guess I will have to drain a bunch and re fill. I may go ahead and flush her out.
