dpf punch out

well, my truck is at the dealer. i think it went into limp mode. they are probably going to replace the turbo they tell me. they said they have a new program to download too. im guessing that the sensor after the dpf is what senses a change in flow, senses that the screen in the dpf is clogged therefore triggers the regen cycle? if this screen is the problem because it gets clogged up wouldnt it be good to just punch it out? maybe then that little sensor would always sense good flow, no plugging and never make the computer dump raw fuel in there. i dont know, im disgusted that i even bought this truck and im disgusted with dodge for releasing this garbage idea of an emission system to us all.

It's more complicated than that. Those are EGT sensors you mentioned. They sent signal to the ecm when the 2 SS tube report the pressure differential in the DPF so that the EGR valve will close or open to generate heat to burn off the soot in the DPF. Please someone correct if that's not accurate.

You can hollow the DPF and Nox filter (or buy a tbe) and also delete the EGR but you will still get a cel and still put you into limp mode. You need programmer like Smarty or HS to eliminate the cel completely without going to limp mode and start enjoying your truck.

You can simply remove everything if you want, but it will give you a whole bunch of codes and you won't be able to drive your truck. Deleting it requires you either wire resistors across all the plugs for the DPF system or get a programmer to delete it from the computer.

are you serious? are you going to do it? i get my truck back late today or tomorrow. people are unplugging their egr's and running their trucks so i keep thinking that my cheesy idea might work. im going to ask to speak to the tech at the dealer and ask him what i can do and what have they seen people do and get away with. the last time i went in for a check engine the dealer told me they were going to keep it two days. i started yelling at him i told him that i bought a new truck with 40 miles on it because i didnt want to deal with crap breaking down. after awhile of me in his face he told me, " okay okay, just drive it for awhile with the exhaust brake on and it should clean it out. the check engine light will disappear" well i did it and it did turn off after about 20 miles on the freeway. this was around the 6000 mile mark. now i have about 12,800 miles on it. i still cant believe that the dealer is selling the hell out of these trucks. i feel like walking in their showroom, hanging out and telling all the customers the bull they will have to deal with in the future.

Take it all off and run a tunner, you will never cuss these trucks again. Then you can go to the dealership with a sign that says DPF/EGR Delete and TBE for the best truck you can ever have!

regards,
MAC

There's a better way to do it for almost the same price.

This one only replace the DPF and NOX, you don;t need to remove the downpipe, muffler and tailpipe.
Rollin Smoke Diesel. 2007.5-2010 6.7 Dodge AFE Stainless DPF Pipe

and Smarty JR or H&S.

more exhaust below if you want to tbe.
