It's more complicated than that. Those are EGT sensors you mentioned. They sent signal to the ecm when the 2 SS tube report the pressure differential in the DPF so that the EGR valve will close or open to generate heat to burn off the soot in the DPF. Please someone correct if that's not accurate.
You can hollow the DPF and Nox filter (or buy a tbe) and also delete the EGR but you will still get a cel and still put you into limp mode. You need programmer like Smarty or HS to eliminate the cel completely without going to limp mode and start enjoying your truck.
