how many miles will 6.7 last in stock condition?

How many miles will the 6.7 cummins run in stock condition? Will it have to be rebuilt in 100,000 miles due to soot buildup?

In the manual I bvelieve Dodge says that the engine as is, is good for 350,000 miles before you have to do anything with it!! So you know they must have tested it and that was the breaking point for this engine. just My Opinion.

Miles on 6.7

The test trucks were run for 1 Million miles before tear down, That was a lot of highway miles, not city or stop and go.

I had 137,000 miles on my dually before I did any mods. That was towing my 40' equipment trailer everyday with 25-40K pounds behind the truck. I put that on in about 11 months.

That's true. When I took truck in to dealer @ 123K they said I needed to replace the DPF. They said it was $2800. I about pissed myself. Must have had "SUCKER" on my forehead that day.

I read somewhere that 50% survived past 350,000 miles without major overhaul. (properly maintained of course) That may have been on the 5.9 though. Not sure about the 6.7.

yours... 294,687 miles, exactly. Plan your last trip to the service bay accordingly.

I just spoke with a older gentleman today that hauls campers who called in. It is a '08 getting ready to hit 200k. He runs a Edge Juice, still has the DPF intact and the truck has never been to the dealer for anything outside of new balljoints.

He ws looking at the delete only to gain mpg.

Not bad.

Mine just turned 160k and still runs like a top. Pulls better than my 5.9 with 110k. Burns no oil. Still has the dpf.
