Perhaps a better question would have been "H&S or Smarty tuning?". The Mini Maxx is only one of 4 product lines we have released for the 07-09 Cummins.
my 08 3500 had a xrt pro on it when i bought don't know what tune it was on and i just got a smarty s67 and put it on 130hp \ rail pressure: default/ injection timing: default/ vgt: 4 (highest setting)/ POD:99/ torque manegment: 4 (the least torque managment resistance possible) all i saw was about 100* more idle egt and less boost response. i don't know if i was supposed to up the rail pressure or the injector timing or not but just to let you know at those settings on the smarty the h&s had better turbo response but i couldnt tell a difference in power

MM is very easy to use. Like all the easy options, tuning, timing, defueling, safety. Run on mild 95% of time. 130k miles on truck 30K with MM. Original turbo, head gasket, and head bolts. Let it warm up and cool down. Set it and forget it just enjoy driving truck without worrying about boost, coolant, egt because it takes care of it.

Try timing at 3 or 4, rail pressure at 3, torque at 3 and vgt at defalt and I bet you will like it much better.

Smarty and Edge Insight for gauges.
Smarty has good smooth clean power, and the insight works great. A plus to the insight is it also will control the Smarty POD function.

I have had the Smarty S67 installed since Nov 09. Why would I spend money on another tuner so much else to buy and enjoy, one tuner is enough for me.

My truck runs great and gets good mileage.
It does everything I need it to do.
