new to the 6.7

Hey guys, I just bought a 2008 dodge 2500 crew cab SLT because i had a rod let loose in my 7.3 powerstroke so i just decided to buy a new truck and fell in love with this one. But i don't know much about them. Im kind of familiar with the 5.9s.

Im getting ready to delete the DPF and the EGR. But i dont really want to loose the quietness in the cab. Would a 5in exhaust with a muffler still be kind of quiet in the cab? Or should i stick with 4 inch?

What tuner would you guys recommend? H&S mini maxx?

And what EGR delete kit?

And also how do the stock auto trannys hold up to having a tuner on these?

Thank you for any info you guys can give me..

I don't think you could make these trucks noisy if you wanted to.

I had the same concern about noise in the cab with a 5" exhaust but I can assure you that you will not notice the difference.

Outside it is a bit louder, but not much.

I have a Smarty S67 that my trucks likes on SW5 above the other settings. I get about 20-20.5 mpg on the highway and 17.5 in town.

I am in the process of switching to EFI Live for my truck.

I am of the belief that if you don't slam the skinny pedal down all the time, the tranny will hold up just fine.

Delete kits are a six one way, half dozen the other. I have a Pro-Flo exhaust and have no complaints.

In summary...delete, mild tune, enjoy.

4" TBE with Donaldson muffler.

Any EGR delete kit works. I have a Smarty but will be getting EFI live.

The trannys start to fail. Clutches in maunual applications do too.

I had 2 7.3s. Good trucks but a 6.7L with a manual tranny runs circles around it like it's a 4 cylinder.

I have the H&S EGR and Cooler delete kit. For the tuner go with H&S or Smarty, but if you choose Smarty make sure you download the ME version to allow for the DPF delete. A lot of people on here run the flo pro tbe, 5" or 4" just get the muffler. The stock tranny wont hold much if you keep your foot in it all the time. I would get the H&S OD tune or an ATS co-pilot.

i have 4 inch straight pipe with sound dampening panels in the cab fyi but my truck is not as loud as i would want it to be. i can hear the turbo more than anything. before throwing all that money down for cai tuner and egr cooler delete grid heater delete ect and ask one of the guys on here about an upgraded vgt with wastegate or something. i think it would yield good power and eco. power is addicting so get tranny tune asap to increase longevity.
