mini max in cold weather

hello all, i have a 08 2500 (stock) and have been considering my dpf delete options for mpg not power. Thus far I have settled on a 4" turbo back stainless from mbrp but not a tuner. i am leaning towards the mini max as it provides the gauges and the tuning where as the smarty requires guages or perhaps an edge insight. From what i have read on the forum each tuner has its fans. so i have a couple questions.

1- my concern i have a with the mini max that living in canada where the temps plunge well into the negatives the electronics will be a little glitchy, anyone running one in cold weather with any input?

2- The mini max seems a little more simple to run then the smarty for someone that is not a techy, is that true?

3- should i just wait a couple months for efi live?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

go with a mini and be done. It will do what you wanna do im sure. Has so many extras on it plus all the guages. Efi is good just have to get someone to tune it for you unless you dont mind gettin off into the depth with it. Its nice to have extra power with a push of the button. The others dont have that. Its awesome. Not sure on the cold weather. Someone else will come in and say somethin on that. Im down in Alabama so I dont have any issues with that.

Go mini max, Im in Calgary so it gets f'in cold haha

My Insight on my 07 hates cold weather, screen won't fire up, gets strange codes and Edge had to do a remote fix on it

Smarty is good but slow and you don't have power on demand
Plus Smarty doesn't have trans tune which you SHOULD get, plus nav unlock which the boss lady loves

haha it got real cold in Manitoba a few days this winter and mine was good.. fell off the window once as well, and actually broke the suction cup mount lol other than that it holds up good in the cold! even better than my Sat radio.

One thing I like about the MiniMax is that you can set safety/defuel parameters, and one of them is coolant temp. You can set it so the extra power settings won't turn on until your coolant temp hits 150 degrees (or whatever you think is safe...) So that way none of your 'friends' can get in it if you left it parked with the keys in it and blow the head gasket by holding it to the floor when the motor is still frozen.
Get the overhead mount, it works great.

Yes it will, the overhead mount attaches to the windshield itself.
