BADP Turbo Back Review 6.7

I bought the 4 inch turbo back with tip thursday. Downpipe was a pain to get on. Had to grind a little to make it fit. I had to cut about 6 inches off delete pipe to make fit. Everything is snug and doesnt move around and looks great. Directions were for 5.9. I would of made my own directions a little more detail and wonder why BADP hasnt done this simple task already!!???!!! I have muffler on still.

My thoughts,

Sound is very nice. Puffed alot at first but calmed down after a few miles. Still very quiet unless your getting on the pedal. I stayed with 4 inch due to being cheaper and this is a work truck so im not going all out. If this was my daily driver, GO FOR 5 INCH FOR SURE, and buy a delete muffler kit. DONT USE MUFFLER. I think it sounds perfect right now for towing heavy loads all the time.

MPG INCREASE

Before empty i have never seen over 18.9 on overhead at 67 mph for about an hours time.

I drove at 67 mph now and am getting 22.5 and increasing with a nasty headwind. My overhead is accurate to the tee. Ive done hand calculated many times and its always the same.

POWER INCREASE

I feel more zip but not have really done any WOT.

Check engine Light came on in 1 mile. but i knew that would happen.

I will post more results as i work the trucks some.

I very pleasedthumbsup:thumbsup

well the fitment should be identical with exception to the sensors. that's why they were able to take a 5" magnaflow kit and modify it for the 6.7's by adding the proper sensor locations to the existing piping. good to hear you are liking the exhaust kit....I love mine! I have been thinking of deleting the muffler, but would like to hear/ride in someone elses first. Matt you up for a road trip?

Mattpopp did you have to grind and cut like the other guy? Is the cutting because the staight pipe works for a Mega Cab and a QC?

This is the first I heard anyone say Bay Area was anything but easy to install.

You complained about the directions not being detailed, so if it was so easy why complain?

I have a Quad Cab and a Mega. My thought was that the exhaust on a Mega Cab must be longer. I have a 5 inch on my QC, but stock on the Mega. Soooooooo??? Maybe its all the same but, I would think not.

When we modify the kit

This is the first I heard anyone say Bay Area was anything but easy to install.

When CCoop769 came in yesterday we had just shipped everything and all I had left were two four inch kits that had not been modified for the 6.7 engine.
He was told upfront that there were no kits ready and if he took the kit the way it was there would be a little work needed and he would have to weld all the sensors bungs in himself.
We modify the downpipe and flange to make a kit. When the order is placed they will ask what the cab size and bed length is and when your order is filled it will be built to those specifications and therefore need no further modifications.
It is not standard to grind or cut anything on our kits for them to fit, they should fit exactly like the factory exhaust and should not rub on anything under the truck.

CCOOP769 I am glad you got everything on and hope you like it. :thumbsup

Interesting about the ccoop769 install, forgot to mention about the instrcutions you gave at the shop.

Look forward to being one the many that now have it and from what I hear fits like a glove out of the box.

Thanks!

First off people, i am nowhere even close to complaining. I am writing this review as a simple review to help other people out and for companys that get the reviews to take feedback to make products better. Before I bought my kit, i read the whole forum just to make sure.

I would like to say again, that I just stopped by outta the blue and they really didnt have no kits put together. I did have to drill the holes and weld the bungs. i was told that up front and I knew that. That was easy to do. I was unaware of the saw zawing I had to do but that is no biggie. That took 2 minutes.

My exhaust still fits like a glove and does not shake around.

Shane explains in this paragraph that he ask you questions before he ships.

So now with that being heard and said, again, this is a awesome product,, best money spent and wish I woulda done this earlier.

Not to mention they put together a kit for me on the dime.

SO AGAIN PEOPLE, THERE IS NO COMPLAINING, i know people always complain on this forum, but this is just how my install went and my revies, WHICH IS GOOD.thumbsup

As for the grinding of the insde of downpipe, i didnt have too, the shop told me it would be easier to fit if I did. I tried for 1 hour but no luck, so i grinded and it went on easy.

Again, IM HAPPY..

P.S. On this instructions thing, its an exhaust, so its easy either way. I didnt even look at the instructions during install, just looked at them to look for a second. I was giving my critique on that cause, well, it only does take a few minutes to make and print and copy something up and throw it in every box. maybe I didnt get 6,7 instructions cause they threw my kit together quickly. who knows. Maybe there is a reason why there not making instructions or maybe they are to busy to even think about making instructions and nobody has said anything about it. All i was stating before that my instructions were for a 5.9. And i was just stating that. I doubt that would stop anyone from buying this kit

Thanks Shane
