I have a new question about the GTX4294-R turbo....

Can you spool one fine with 120hp nozzles, and Arson IV Comp Kit, and EFI Live tuning, with a stock cam & stock head. I want to still be able to DD and occasionaly tow with my truck. Will it spool up ok? Will it spool quickly, or would I need more fuel than that?

The way a 472 spools on stock fuel I don't see a problem with the Garrett on 120s. An as far as the arson IV, I think you would be fine with the 3. I talked with Shane when I ordered my pump an he didn't reccomend the IV because of to high idle pressure or something like that, an ill be runnin Flux 4s now instead of the 3s I had. I'll be using his 10mm stroker pump, at least that's what he called it.

Ive been meaning to call him. Last I talked with him, he said that he was working on something bigger than the D392 and that I would need something bigger for my 175s. So he said that the "10mm stroker" would be good for your Flux 4s? Could you maybe shoot me a PM, so we dont muddy up this guys Garrett thread? Thanks man.

Well, I'm running EFI Live, so we should be able to tame the A-IV kit down to daily driveable pressures, but still be wickedly strong on the top end.

Other than that, so the GTX4294R should spool nicely with 120's....That's good news. This might be the route I go instead of a SB66.

What specs would you recommend for the turbo? Turbine side? Exhaust side? A/R?

Be patient young grasshoppa, let me put this thing on Adam's truck and I'll let you know. What the heck is an Arson IV Comp kit? Is that a complete pump from Shane or a DIY thing?

AFAIK the D392 is a 10mm stroke pump, stock is a 8.Xmm stroke and the floorit4 i'm running now is a 12mm.

Turbine/exhaust side are the same thing, I would start with what Adam is going with.

Everyone... if you want some solid answers please wait for my build to commence. Not to sound like a D, but installing this turbo properly with all the provisions that it features hasn't really been documented and/or tested.

Yes, it's the farthest thing you can do to a stock pump without upgrading the pumps internals. You get a custom modified "Signature Series" FCA imported from Germany, then Shane modifies it more, then you get an oversized cascade valve, and an oversized fuel fitting, and highly modified gear pump. It holds nearly 13Ksi at idle... EFI is the only thing able to tame it with special tuning. It will require alot of fine tuning to get it tame enough to run on a DD truck. He says that it flows so much out of the stock pump that you should be able to push 120hp nozzles, but that it will VERY efficiently push 90hp nozzles with no issues.

It should be here tomorrow or Monday. Hope it arrives tomorrow so I can possibly install it this weekend. I'm tired of my truck dying all the time b/c of the faulty stock FCA.

I will most likely need someone's EFI tuning expertise soon. Are you coming to Rich's dyno day on March 24th?

Hmm, doesn't sound like Shane's type of marketing, there's no replacement for displacement

Any CP3 and operate any size injectors, dependent on programming, end result is only the maximum amount of fuel the injection pump can supply at WOT no matter how big of holes it comes out of at what pulse width.

Mark my words, stock displacement CP3 won't do over 600hp without spray no matter how many gadgets you strap on it.

Though I dont have one on our truck yet, I think it will spool rather quickly with that setup. The GTX4294R has a 70.3mm inducer and with the smallest turbine housing option (1.01 A/R) and billet wheel, spool up should be very fast. The GTX series of turbos spool up 10% quicker than their standard ball bearing turbos which are known for lighting very fast. According to the guys at Garrett, the GTX4294R should be a monster on the 6.7L.

For those of you who havent checked out their new site, they have a ton of helpful info as well as a "boost adviser" which helps you choose the best charger for your application.
