Code P245A with Edge

EGR Cooler Bypass Control Circuit open. First time since deleted the truck has thrown a code. Truck was at idle for a bit, got in it to leave and engine light was on with the code. Shut truck off, restarted and same thing. Drove a few miles, shut off, restartded after it sat for a bit and no codes.

The edge set up to clear codes on start up. First time it's done this. Possibly the colder starts here in the winter months have anything to do with this? Any other ideas why this particular code would have shown up when this code is the one that should be cleared?

I have the Edge CTS w/ attitude ( racing ) when I put on the egr delete, I threw all kinds of codes. The edge I have doesn't offer a egr delete program, I ordered the H&S xrt pro, installed it tonight, and all codes are clear. Truck runs 100x better.

I'm not telling you what to do here but it's not recommended that you clear codes on start up. A recent post, and no I don't know what section or where to find it, I think either Mads or H&S indicated that 12.5 volts or more is preferred for doing any ECM writing or overwriting (like clearing codes). Reason being is you can have bits left in the memory because the voltage is too low. This is why those two companies (or at least Mads does) to have fully charged batteries or even better a charger hooked up when writing a program to the ECM. Just food for though but I will now only clear codes when I need to.

So your engine light on the dash is on all the time? If there is a true fault, then the edge should pick it up right?
With the 12.5 volts part, its winter time and upon start up the voltage isnt perfect. Lights get dim, voltage guage fluctuates; are saying this is why that code comes up? Guess I'm not quite following what you are saying.....
