Gear Box Z DPF-R

my uncle has the Gear Box Z DPF-R on his 08 dodge 2500 cummins and wants to stack a programmer or chip on top of this to get better fuel milage. has anyone used this or has it to give me a better idea to help him out bc i know nothing about the new 6.7L.
2001 2500 4x4, Quad cab, LWB, 6spd, hp clutch, 4" stainless Magnaflow exhaust, Edge EZ, BD Intake w/ BHAF, No Silencer ring, FASS 150, BD wastegate.

Programmer will delete the need for the dpf-r. Programmers turn off everything the dpf-r resets.
