Question for EFI Live beta testers

I did a search and came up blank for my question.

I'm kind of aware of the capabilities of this unit that is soon to be released, however, I'm curious to know the level of difficulty is while using the unit to tune.

I'm no expert by any means, I'm somewhere in the middle realm of knowledge.

I'm interested in getting this when it comes out, but don't wanna waste the money if it takes an expert or if it is too difficult for an average cummins enthusiast to tune.

Can someone who has used this in the beta testing be so kind to shed some light on my question.

Feel free to ask questions if it will help you give a better response.

For some reason I am under the assumption you can use your computer to aid in the tuning, I have a Mac OSX, but please confirm or debunk that assumption.

Thanks.

I am in same boat. I do not know how to tune with it. I know II have done some efi classes to help people learn how to work it.

Once on the street for in full tune (no longer Beta), you will find other venders doing same I think.

Just my thoughts....

From reading some 5.9 and Duramax people its.defi.nitely a learning curve not sure If itsfor the average joe. Think of it this way by putting in the wrong value could spell disaster for your cummins. On another note you can't use an apple computer for efi live last I knew

Yeah once I saw II's class I figures it must be difficult.

Download our software (free), and download a 5.9L tune from Tune File Depot and take a look for yourself.

You should also consider downloading and watching the 'getting started' video one of our beta testers created. I haven't watched the video through (it goes for something like an hour!) but the feedback Kory has had speaks volumes. He plans to refine the video based on feedback, so it's still a work in progress, but it will certainly show you how 'difficult' it really is (or isn't....)

Thanks for the input, I'll check out those links. Still would be nice if someone who beta tested an efi live unit on a 6.7 would chime in and share their personal experience while tuning. It would be nice to confirm whether this is a unit the average joe can use to tune and experiment with or if this is something that will just get me in over my head.

Woman finds rattlesnake freezing to death in the snow. Takes it home and nurses it back to health. It bites her. She asks the snake why would you bite me after I saved you. The snake said, You knew what I was when you picked me up. ]

If you bought anything apple you knew you were getting something that is not compatible with most anything else. Apple has always been a closed hardware and software bunch of items.

You'll need to use bootcamp or parallels if you are running a Mac. We have no plans to offer support on other platforms at this point.

Cheers
