Used 64mm silver bullet

I know someone who is selling a 64mm sb with a second gen. two piece manifold. He also said he only had it on his truck for 2 weeks. He had a 08 6.7. He wants to sell the turbo and manifold for $1700.00. Is this a good deal? Would a 64 be ok for me since all I have done is the deletes with a mini maxx? Any tips on how to tell if the turbo is in good condition?

a brand new Silver 66 can be had for $1800 from II, if money's tight get yourself a stock 3rd gen 5.9 manifold off the classifieds and be done with it.

64 imo is too small for a 6.7, also most aftermarket 2nd gen manifolds are 3 piece.

grab the compressor wheel and wiggle it around, if it moves up and down just a tad that's ok, in/out slop is bad.

Call Alligator performance and talk to Vinny!! Tell him Donovan told you to give him a call!! Those guys have been great to me and he did better than 1800 for me. I had a 64 and it will leave you want more. Just my opinion.

:agreed2: it only took a month for me to want to go bigger. A 66 is a great charger for 470hp and 973ftlbs with a smarty! that's what I just put down saterday. If your not after to much more power than that you'll be happy with the 66's quick spooling characteristics.
