To weld or clamp?

Going to install a flo-pro 5" tbe in the near future and was curious if i'd be ok with the clamps that came with it or if I should weld it up. I want to be able to return to stock in case emission testing come our way (and I believe it will in a few years). Just wondering what everyone else's experience is.

I've got 10,000 miles with just clamps, no leaks so far, just use an impact to tighten them up. If you clamp the sections together you can still take them apart because they dont use "U" bolts.

I have had no issues with the supplied clamps. A lot easier to reverse if the need arises.

If ya do weld it don't weld the down pipe. Makes it a biznitch if ya have to remove the turbo later on down the road.

I would not use U-Bolt style clamps as they can reform the pipe causing it to be very very hard to pull apart. Use the Band Clamp style like you get with the MagnaFlow kits. Those tend to hold much better. I would not even consider welding if you ever plan to pull it apart.

CONVENIENT THING ABOUT A CUMMINS TOWING CAPABILITY IS THAT IT CAN PULL ONE HECK OF A BANDWAGON. SO ALL YOU FORD AND CHEVY GUYS FEEL FREE TO JUMP ON.

My 5" has been on since 2007. I clamped it with the supplied clamps and tack welded the joints to prevent twisting. That's just what I did.
