DPF Delete without a programer and sim questions

I have a 09 6.7L and I want to delete the DPF but don't want to drop $650 on a programmer. Right now I am using a Hypertech Max will it clear my trouble codes from the DPF delete and second I heard of others using sims made from Radio Shack. How do these work and how do I make the radio shack sim?

Look in the DIY link in my signature for the nuts & bolts on DPF delete & sims.
I suggest just getting the EGT sims from Rollin Smoke Diesel. Rollin Smoke Diesel. 6.7L EGT Sims
The pressure SIM has to be DIY.
Also as a 2009 you have to be concerned with your build date for any programmer (future).

N8AZ = Ham call?? Nice. KC7CK here.

I'm thinkin Arizona Nate.... but I could be wrong.

dad2bike, I've got those pressure sims crimped up and ready for potting, but I don't know the pin spacing, is that something you can measure without much hassle?

Yes, I can measure up the Pressure sensor when I get home tonight.
So you found a housing that will work?

Thanks so a sim will work by fooling the trucks computer and shutting off the DPF re generator. What about the codes will it throw any by doing that?

I'm pretty much in the same boat you are in. I code clear before starting my truck and never had a code. If you don't clear on before start up you might get a DPF code, thats what happen the first time with me.

I ran the sims for a couple years on both my trucks and finally have the black maxx so I dont need them anymore, but on my 09 I had the 02 sensors welded back in the exhaust and sims on the 3 egt sensors, nothing on the pressure sensor which running that way i still got a code and overhead message saying the dpf was full, which didnt bother me cuz no limp mode from them that was clearing on start up with the pmt even, but I would suggest selling the hypertech and looking for a smarty or xrt used for a good price then you would only be a couple hundred into it.
