Why is stainless better? And would they sound different??
Stainless is better against the weather and harsh deicers used on the road in winter. The sound could be different between the 2 depending on the materials resonance. Different gauges and material of metals will bounce the same sound off differently.

if you get stainless, make sure it's 304... 409 looks like crap IMO. Aluminized looks better than 409 and holds up awesome if you don't live in an area that salts the roads. Diesels don't put water in the exhaust, so they dont' rust from the inside like gasser exhaust systems
Well as long as their is no sound difference then i should be just fine with the aluminum thanks guys!
I've read hear a few times that Stainless sounds better. My Aluminized 4" had bad resonance.
I found a trick to put 4" stainless hose clamps every few feet on the pipe. Was magic. The pipe did not do that at 1000 or 2000 rpm as bad.
We figured that it reduced it by 50%.
Next exhaust will be stainless.
