I finished some modifications today, EGR, DPF deletes and a Raceme ultra.
Test drive with the exhaust brake on, when I back off it makes a loud whistle.
07.5 6.7 Cummings.
Any Idea what's causing it?
mine does it all the time... REALLY pronounced now that the emissions are off (for cleaning, of course). at idle, it'll sound like a jet turbine - because basically it's the same principle, only much smaller. your stock exhaust with emissions intact just muffles the heck out of it til it's barely audible.
here is a video of mine shortly after deleting. had it our for inspection and was picking it up after work. only took this video to share the awesome sound of the exhaust brake kicking on while cold. when people ask what that sound is outside, i tell them that it is someone using a shop vac. https://youtu.be/dfmEej-K34o
It's the sound of FREEDOM !
Well, at least for your engine, as it can now breath fresh air and expel the "not so fresh" a lot easier.
