If you are looking to see if you have the secure bootloader then check your build date on the door. 2009 vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L diesel engine (Sales code ETJ) built after March 04, 2009 (MDH0304XX) will have the secure bootloader.

MMMMMM not sure on that bud I am pretty sure the tech bulletin said ECM's built after 3-4-09 have the bootloader the OP should be good to go the delaer does not have the capability to flash the bootloader into the ECM.

I think your good to go BARELY but good to go wait for some more guys to chime to be sure before you order your tuner

My post said the same thing just re-read it. It is right out of the bulletin and you check the build date on the door not the ECM.

i understood that bud but what i am getting at is do we use the build date on the door of the truck or on the ECM the dates on mine are 6 months apart and the ECM is where the problem is so that was what I was getting at the ECM after 3/4/09 are when the bootloader was installed and I am not sure which date we have to go buy

as far as your pmt it could be a problem with just the flash being newer than what the PMT knows find timmay81 on here and send him a pm he is a BullyDog rep and can prob help you out there

It's not the ECM build date... it has to do with the truck build date.

We have seen multiple trucks with later build dates that still had the un protected ECM's in them.

Marco seems to think differently if I'm reading his post right (from another thread)

see that would be the logical thing I think, Chrysler started uploading the Bootloader into the ECM on the set date of 3/4/09 so any ECM that date on or after would be effected. However the dang ecm is not made and installed on the truck in the same day Hense my 2 dates are 6 months apart. So from 3/4/09 on Chrysler still used the ECM that were sitting on their shelves that will go into trucks built after 3/4/09 but have the ECM that was built earlier than that so we need to confirm that for sure because there could be a lot of guys with Truck Build Dates that are post 3/4/09 but there ECM were built before that and are good to do the deletes

So, which date is it ? The MDH on the door or the date on the ECM?
As stated by several of you earlier, the date on the ECM seems to be the logical choice.

Either way I'm screwed for now.
ECM build date 03/04/09
MDH:0326xx
Any options ???I really want to get the deletes done

Marco at Smarty says the ECM date and that he has had several trucks with the door dates after 3/4 and the ecm before and had no problem tuning. That sucks man ONE DAY earlier
