goodbye turbo....

well my fear has come a reality... though it was more a test than anything... since the tail pipe fell off at a job the other day, the weight of the downpipe and delete pipe has managed to come off the back of the turbo, with part of the housing attached to it. its been a constant down pour here today so i havent had time to get the thing into the shop for the teardown, but will hopefully of pics of the carnage soon. a small rundown of the week... the tailpipe falling off, the head gasket going, the clutch spent and now this... and not too sure but i believe theres a leaky cp3 in there as well from the looks of it, though i havent taken the time to really check it out. guess ive managed to test almost every part of this truck, cause just about everything is toasted. i wont include the whole trans housing cracking in half in this list, cause im blaming the dealership for that one.

whats the suggestions for turbos, the possibilities are almost endless. i pull about 12k daily and only once or twice a year around 20k. i have a heavy foot and am not scared to push limits... trucks a daily driver and does about 1,000 miles a week....

any suggestions with some info behind them would be greatly appreciated. also... ill be using lovefabs equal length manifold to whatever else.

well if you already have head gasket issues, get a turbo with a large exhaust housing, 74+ and a 64 or 66 compressor. if you are towing lots, the 64 is better down low. i pull my 5th, its about 15k lbs, and even up a hill without the meth on, peak egts are around 1300, the turbo spools up dang near as fast as the stocker, there are lots of options out there for turbo's if you go back to a 5.9 manifold, i would call DDP, i love this turbo.
