Its only as powerfull as your supporing mods... Stock tranny and lift pump and turbo can only support so much.... but smarty or xrt or H&S black maxx is gonna be your best bet.

I just want more power. I'm not racing or anything, I just would like it to compare with a 05 cummins with a bully dog that I had. The way everyone is talking about the trouble people are having with the new diesels I am kinda scared on buying one. I guess its all about what the dealer will say if something happens and they find I'm using a chip

SMARTY. Why? Cause its a clean tune that can be run with the emissions intact or with deletes.
You can resell it easier if you ever get rid of your truck, because it CAN be run on a truck that is otherwise stock. The Black Maxx cannot be run on a stock truck, an XRT can only be run at stock power levels with the stock exhaust. Smarty doesn't smoke much, so there is little risk of plugging up your dpf. H&S tunes seem to smoke quite a bit, even the lower ones.

So, unless you aslo want deletes (which you do) hen Smarty is the ONLY way to go. If your open to deletes you have a few options.

I'll let you read up and decide which of the three previously mentioned tuners would be best for what you want but stay away from Bully Dog. Their gear may have worked great on your 05 but there are plenty of guys on here that now have PMTs they get to use as very expensive digital gauges.
