I don't tap them. I make the kit so it plugs into the plug. I then tape it up for water protection. Look in the DPF & EGR deletes on a budget thread in the powertrain section. A picture is about 2 or 3 posts in.

Where do you get the wire couplers to make your pigtail from then?

In my case I've scrouged up some printed circuit pins that I crimp on. I've seen others take regular fork style crimp on terminals and cut 1 of the forks off of each.
I'm NOT searching for those pics and links. I think they may be in the budget thread.

Someone suggested folding the resistor leads over like a "U" and soldering it to make a pin that would fit into the plug.

thanks guys. i got it done today. i was picking up parts at the ford dealer today and i asked them if they had any kind of small spade connectors for in the haness's, sure enough , the parts guy came out with almost exactly the right size terminals in his hand. they had about 3 inches of wire attached to them. so a soldering i went. i put di-electric gree in the connector and pluged in the wires, then put the connector and resistors in a small plastic bag and zip tied it tightly.no more check eng light.
