Chips and reliability

Would I be on the right track thinking programmers/downloaders are safer for a slightly modified truck than pressure boxes or combination modules? Or do the programmers relate to higher EGT's? Can't decide which route to take.

no really they make many programmers that a specifically designed to help with fuel milage and are tested on non modified trucks. now a pressure box is my favorite for a non modded truck who just wants some towning power it is simple and effective. egts will go up a bit as you are adding fuel in the duration of the spray. there is many different applications out there to fit your needs from mild to wild. for instance i like to put superchip on a non modded truck that is not looking to make huge numbers in the future. now if the person is going to keep building the truck go with a smarty sr you cannot outgrow that. all tuners and pressure boxes give the opportunity to amke high egts it all depends on how you drive. i have heard high egts on edge yet our truck runs great on edge and the egts only get high on hot unlock with wot. but anytime you take a truck that is not modded and put a hot heavy tune on it yes it will see higher egts. if you take a pressure box that is 100hp yes you will see higher egts when you drive it like you stole it....now if you want a opinion here it is bullydog has very high egts. i think they overfuel the truck. i have personally seen a pmt bury a 1500 degree mechanical guage. hey these are opinions on what i have seen. i do not build those products but i have used many of them. just my .02

Thanks for the great input Howdy. I think right now its between The hypertech, Extreme power puck, or the new Dr. Performance module. Thinking about Superchips flashpaq as well.
