Has anyone got their rockers rhino lined or even their whole truck? I've also heard of different colors and finishes? If you guys have done this can I see pics and maybe pricing? Thanks
I did it to a jeep I had a few years back and plan on doing the rockers on my '10 Ram this summer. Instead of Rhino Liner I used a product called Durabak. It is a do-it-yourself product but easy to do, comes in different colors, and has more texture to it than Rhino Liner. I think they have a smooth product now though. The stuff I used had chunks of rubber in it to help drip too and no more waxing. This stuff is TOUGH. I put it in the wheel wells on my old chevy 1500 and ran around with it for a year before driving the ALCAN and the gravel roads in Alaska with no chips. If you'd like I can see if I can drum up an old picture of my jeep with the stuff?

Ive heard of people getting a big ticket for that kind of stuff, since its an uneven surface on the vehicle, a cops radar would bounce off the vehicle and go in different directions, so he cant get a speed reading on you. Big no no.

I would like to see that law since even if you did the whole body, the wheels, glass and plates would give a huge radar signature.
HAS to be bullsh*t. I can paint whatever the fawk I want on my truck, this is still America, right?. The popo is just outta luck if that dinks with the silly radar.
Durabak seems like a pretty good idea, ive tossed around the idea of doing that on the nissan I had. Heres a few things im not sure about:
1. I wouldnt trust myself painting everything on the truck..
2. I wonder if there would be a weight difference over the OEM paint if the whole truck was covered.
Im an officer and there is no law in the State of Texas that says you can have your complete truck covered. A radar signal will strike an object and return the signal to the radar gun or head no matter what....Sometimes the radars just want pick up, unless its a lidar radar which shoots a laser out and gives you the distance at which time the vehicles speed was read and the outside temp.... If you get a lidar ticket there is no way to beat it...Those puppies are on the money and courts love them....
I see trucks here all the time that are completely covered and they look good.....

I found a couple pics I took at SEMA, sorry it's not of a Ram...
There was quite a few trucks that had coated some of the body, that was the only one I saw that was completely covered. I plan on doing the front and rear bumpers in a color match along with an outdoorsman grille to get a sport look.
As far as the weight is concerned I don't have any good numbers but it definitely is more, but I think that pretty much goes without saying
Oh and here's a Ram pic just to make sure I don't get banned
