How much Air in rear DRW when towing heavy?

Hello all.

My sticker on the door shows 40psi in rear to be correct psi. What are you guys running in a dually when towing over 10k? I am used to a 2500 and 80psi on those. Duals is new to me.

thanks

All my tires are at the max pressure on the sidewall whenever I tow anything heavy. I back them down to about 70psi when not towing, seem to last longer at a higher pressure.

Make sure you're looking at the right sticker, there are usually two. The white placard lists GAWR and GVWR as well as tire PSIs needed to run those loads. The other sticker is a supplemental sticker showing light-load PSI. At least, there are two on my 3500. Yours should be similar, showing light-load and heavy-load PSIs.

I run 65 psi rear and 60 psi front when pulling a 14500 LB trailer.

I run 80 psi front all the time, and 50 psi rear towing a 12k tagalong camper. I am getting consistant even treadwear at these pressures. Also tire rotation on a dually is different. The front tires just swap side to side, while the rear duals stay together, and swap sides of the truck. If you mix the duals with the front tires, the taller tires will get cut off to match the shorter tire! You should wear out 2 maybe 3 sets of fronts to 1 set of rear tires!
