the size of the compressor inducer will not tell you the performance
capabilities of the turbocharger.

WAAAAaayyyy back when I first became aware of diesel engines, I started
asking questions from those experienced in diesel operation and
maintenance. The earliest tidbit of info I received was, that for
maximum life and freedom from failures, the absolutely BEST thing you
can do for a diesel engine, is KEEP THE FILTERS CLEAN!
Through a bunch of years, I've read numerous articles about
differentials, and thought about how they behave under different
circumstances. (This is basically a disclaimer explaining that I can't
pinpoint any specific source for what I'm about to say...)
